The Soulpepper Academy of 2011/2012 has crafted a theatrical experience centred around dirt as both a provocation and an actual substance, filling the theatre with dirt, movement and sound. Through the use of contemporary urban stories, provocative and humours movement pieces, and multimedia technology, the Academy digs deep into how dirt is ubiquitous, from grime and fingernails to dark, dirty secrets. Previews start May 18.

THE ROYAL COMEDIANS (MOLIERE)

Russian master Mikhail Bulgakov delves into the opulent world of eighteenth-century France with an extraordinary consideration of the life of French dramatist Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, better known as Moliere. Dramatist, actor, theatre manager, lover, and scoundrel, Moliere shrewdly crafts his own legend while battling the forces that hunger for his downfall.
